“Even so,” is the latest addition to my arsenal of sentence connectors in writing.
I have a fairly small set of sentence connecting tools in my writing toolbox — which consists of however and but.
“Watching a film is perhaps one of the most straightforward activities there is. You don’t need to do much. However, it’s one of the most exhilarating pastimes available.”
“Watching a film is perhaps one of the most straightforward activities there is. You don’t need to do much. But, it’s one of the most exhilarating pastimes available.”
I learned a new connector while reading an article about movie reviews.
“Watching a film is perhaps one of the most straightforward activities there is. You don’t need to do much. Even so, it’s one of the most exhilarating pastimes available.”
Overusing however and but makes my writing sound monotonous so I’m glad I now have even so to add some variation.
